Nothing is more heartbreaking to every parent than seeing their newly born angel suffer with serious illness leaving them with no choice but to let the baby go under those knives to save his life. Dear netizens, below is Baby Rusver F. Mabalos, born on January 6, 2013 and have never left the hospital since then due to his condition. He is diagnosed with Omphalocele – a type of abdominal wall defect in which the intestines, liver, and occasionally other organs remain outside of the abdomen in a sac because of a defect in the development of the muscles of the abdominal wall (exomphalos). The baby had to go through series of operation to sustain his life and avoid further serious condition which will put baby Rusver’s life to great risk. So far, he have gone to two operations already.
He is currently confined at the Madonna and Child Hospital with yet another findings from the doctors attending to him. He has enterocutaneous fistula where all his feces drain to his skin. With the head of the family earning only 6,000.00 as a receptionist at one of the beach resorts in Cagayan de Oro, there is no way for them to pay the hospital bills they currently incurred and will incur in the future as baby Rusver still needs operation and series of treatment. As of this writing, their hospital bill is at P400 thousand plus..

Greetings!
I am Mrs. Maria Therisa D. Flora- Mabalos, 30 years old, married, plain housewife and a resident of Zone 8 Barangay Cugman, Cagayan de Oro City. I am the mother of Baby Rusver Mabalos. My baby is currently confined in Madonna and Child Hospital since from birth, January 6, 2013.
We, the parents of Baby Rusver decided to deliver the boy in Madonna and Child Hospital because it was recommended by my Oby-Gyne as based on the result of the ultra sound. Madonna and Child Hospital was the only hospital in Cagayan de Oro City who had specialized doctors that can do the surgery.
Baby Rusver was diagnosed with omphalocele wherein his liver, large and small intestine and spleen came out. I gave birth with my child through Caesarean section due to his special condition. Upon birth, his omphalocele sac rapture and his liver was lacerated. He had undergone surgery to repair his birth defect.
Nine (9) days after the first surgery, he was diagnosed with necrotizing interocolitis due to infection wherein some part of his small intestine rapture which lead him to a second surgery. Currently, our baby had an enterocutaneous fistula which all his feces drain to his skin
My husband, Rosevelt Mabalos was only a receptionist in Cha-li Beach Resort and only earning a gross pay of 6,000.00 pesos. Aside from his salary, we don’t have any means to secure funds to pay our hospitalization bills and to purchase his immediate medicines for his maintenance.
Currently our hospitalization bill reaches to Php 429,901.85.
In this situation, we are seeking aid for a gastro-pediatrician who can check the condition of our baby because theirs no such specialist here in Cagayan de Oro City.
